OpenAI has announced ‘Projects’ for ChatGPT as a part of its slew of releases in ‘12 Days of Shipmas’ celebrations. Users will be able to organise group projects on ChatGPT by customising how the AI chatbot responds to requests around it.
People can open ChatGPT and click on the + button to create a new project that appears next to the Projects icon that will appear on the top right. Then, they can assign a name and click on the ‘Create Project’ button.
The Projects icon can also be customised by colour and title.
The tool is based on the GPT-4o model, the company said.
In the demo shown, OpenAI researchers uploaded a Secret Santa project to ChatGPT and then prompted it to randomly assign requests under it to the group members. Then, they asked ChatGPT to write a mail to the group. They also uploaded notes about home appliances and then asked ChatGPT to remind them when the water filter in the fridge needed changing.
Then, they used Projects to create a personal website and integrated Canvas into it to edit the website template.
Projects is available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Teams users, with Enterprise and Edu users getting access to the feature early in the new year.
Until now, OpenAI has released their AI video generator Sora, ChatGPT Canvas and the $200 subscription to ChatGPT Pro.
